Cindy Rowzee
grew up in upstate New York. As a child, she watched her parents travel
to neighboring states and to Canada to do genealogy research, and that's
when her interest began.
A graduate
of Brigham Young University, Cindy earned a Family History degree with
a focus on North American research. As a student, she worked at the
Utah Valley Regional Family History Center, and held internships at
the Utah Valley Regional FHC, at the Family History Library (Salt Lake
City, Utah), and for Lineages, a genealogical researching company.
After graduation,
Cindy became an Accredited Genealogist in the Northeastern States Region
(now Mid-Atlantic States Region), and returned to upstate New York,
where she has lived for several years.
Cindy has
taught on-line genealogy classes for several years and continuing education
classes at a local community college. In addition to working on her
own genealogy, she does a limited amount of professional research.
Her passion is helping others gain the skills they need to find their
own ancestors. She is newsletter co-editor for the International Commission
for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogist (ICAPGen).
Currently
a stay-at-home mom of two little girls, she spends most of her spare
time working on genealogy.
Testimonials
I am really
looking forward to the opportunity to again take one of your courses.
I always learn so much from you, and your chats are the most interesting
of any instructor I have had. I have taken your Northeastern class before,
and research extensively in this area, but am repeating it again as
the price is inexpensive, I always learn something new from you, and
most of all I love the opportunity to share ideas with you and a class.
I am totally thrilled to have the opportunity to do so again.

Cindy,
you are one of the best instructors I have come across in online classes.
You have always been very helpful to your students and have helped them
solve some of their brick walls. If you don't know the answer (which
is rare) then you always find out what it is or where they can go to
get the answer. And no question has ever been a dumb question. You're
the best. Thank you for continuing to instruct in genealogy.
